As day two of WWDMAGIC comes to a close, I can't believe how many new brands I've come across and how many more I still have to find! I love wandering around the WWDMAGIC floor and learning about the brands, in many cases from the designers themselves.

I started the day at the Social House talking about how bloggers and brands can make a visual impact using social media.  As we all discussed on the panel, striking images and engagement are the most important for brands just entering or even enhancing their social media presence.

Next up, I stopped by the emerging designer showcase and I was blown away by the beautiful fabrics, silhouettes, and colors greeting me.  I had the opportunity to meet Amanda, designer for The House or Perna, whose line is the epitome of casual chic.  I love her easy breezy silk separates that I could wear to work by throwing on a blazer, or dress down with leather sandals.

I hurried back to the Social House to talk winterwear trends.  As a Los Angeles native, I rarely need bulky coats and opt for layers when (if) winter strikes.  I picked a textured moto jacket in a pretty chartreuse floral pattern from Darling Clothes as one of the key trends to watch for Fall/Winter 2014.  Not only is it a trend that I saw throughout the WWDMAGIC floor, but it's a style that I prefer.  A moto jacket in a pretty print is a great way to add flair and color to a sometimes gloomy winter day as opposed to the traditional bulky peacoat or leather jacket.
