11 Things You Can't Miss @ WWDMAGIC

We’re only 2 weeks away from the August show and there’s a lot happening at this season’s show – beyond just writing orders! From networking events and fashion shows, to a brand new blogger program designed by WWD, come see #WWDMAGIC for #MAGICLV like you’ve never seen before!

Monday (18th), Tuesday (19th), and Wednesday (20th), check out fashion shows at 11AM and 3PM, curated by InStyle’s Hal Rubenstein (our guest fashion director) and produced by James Campbell.

The Swim Fashion Shows will take place in Central Hall from 11:00AM-11:30AM at Booth 75335. The Womenswear Fashion Show will take place in North Hall from 3:00PM-3:30PM at Booth 61320. Grab a seat in the front row to preview the top looks, trends, and must-haves of the season.

WWDMAGIC, Fashion Business Incorporated (FBI), and Global Purchasing Companies once again welcome the Emerging Designer Showcase to North Hall. Check out the on-the-cusp collections from the most talked about apparel and accessories designers. Exhibiting designers include A by Anubha, DoriLK Ateilier Jewelry, Love Loungewear, Lynn Tallerico, Paul Redmond, Shanaz Designs, Wearmena, Del Mar by Berjheny, Arefeh Fashion, Dom Streater, and FANCYFOX.

This year we’re partnering with 3 top video bloggers (“vloggers”) to live cast shows across LVCC and Mandalay Bay. The vloggers will be walking the floors of WWDMAGIC, FNPlatform, and SOURCING to showcase the best of show. Follow their insights on Twitter & Instagram with #MAGICLV, via @WWDMAGIC and @SOURCINGatMAGIC, as well watch them on the screen of the social command centers located in the Central Hall and South Halls of LVCC.


This year we’ve partnered with Women’s Wear Daily to create a social community space in Central Hall. WWD will be producing panels along side some of the top Vine, Instagram and YouTube influencers in the fashion world today. You can’t miss what’s happening on the Concourse!

By creating valuable content that both inspires and evokes engagement, you can achieve organic growth and success in the digital space. In this discussion, we'll sit down with 3 leading bloggers to discuss how they strategically (and successfully) built a brand community that truly connects with their customers.

12:00PM-1:00PM | The Evolution of A Trend
Alex Badia, Fashion Editor, WWD and Fashion Director, M Magazine gives his insights on the trends seen on the WWDMAGIC show floor and their evolution from the catwalk.

3:00PM-4:00PM | The Future of Influence
What began as a thriving blogging community has now grown into something much more robust, evolving bloggers to “influencers” who partner with brands and create highly influential and engaging content through social platforms such as Instagram and Vine. In this panel, we’ll discuss the future of influence (and influencers themselves), and how brands can best align their strategies with these influencers.

We're 60,000 times more likely to remember something when we've seen it. That kind of visual impact - what is considered the visual curation trend - is what social networks like Instagram and Pinterest feed us on a daily basis. In this panel, we’ll hear from 3 leading influencers on how they utilize visuals and social photography to tell their story in a concise, inspired manner.

This session will highlight how to leverage your brand as an exposure platform to drive sales. You’ll learn current content and marketing tactics that help build customer awareness and revenue.


10:30AM-11:30AM | The Socialization of Womenswear
Khanh Tran, Sportswear Denim & Textile Editor at WWD discusses California and West Coast style in general. The West Coast style has its own unique aesthetic - and no one knows that better than Tran, who grew up in Los Angeles. In this talk, Tran will provide her insights into the evolution of women’s contemporary and denim markets and how they continue to adapt to changes in technology, namely social media.

12:00PM-1:00PM | 5 Way Influencers Are Using Instagram & Vine
Content creation is at an all-time high, with creativity and talent seeping from all angles. In this discussion, we’ll hear how leading bloggers, influencers, and brands utilize Instagram and Vine to creatively tell stories and build community. Join CFDA Fashion Instagrammer of the Year’s Patrick Janelle, Margo and Me’s Jenny Bernstein, and The Fashion Citizen’s Stephanie & Melissa Valenzuela, with moderator BCBGeneration’s Creative Director Joyce Azria, on this exciting and relevant panel discussion.
